Portugal will begin their UEFA Euro 2024 campaign against the Czech Republic in Leipzig on 14 June. The reigning European champions will be looking to make a strong start to their title defence and will be confident of victory against a Czech side who have not qualified for the last two tournaments.
Portugal will be led by Cristiano Ronaldo, who is set to make his fifth appearance at the European Championships. The 38-year-old is still one of the best players in the world and will be looking to add to his tally of 109 international goals.
The Czech Republic will be no pushovers, however. They have a number of talented players in their squad, including Patrik Schick, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal. They will also be buoyed by the fact that they are playing at home.
The match between Portugal and the Czech Republic is sure to be a close and exciting affair. Both teams will be looking to make a statement and will be desperate to get off to a winning start.
